Nahum McLean
Founder
Nahum McLean trained in his hometown, Manchester under the direction of Darren Pritchard and Imani Jendai, and then at The Hammond School where his training began in earnest.
Beginning his career early, Nahum travelled to Havana, Cuba, to train and work under Laura Alonso, where he performed and choreographed for Ballet Laura Alonso.
Soon after, he moved to New York to
study at The Ailey School as a scholar student, where he achieved The Alvin Ailey Scholarship Award, during his time, Nahum performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Complexions Contemporary Ballet.
Nahum went on to work and assist the great director, Dr. George Faison, in The Wiz, and other various projects in New York City, as well as with African dance company, Harambee Dance. Nahum became a member of the New York Dance Lab, working closely with choreographers such as Camille A. Brown, Marcelo Gomes and Andy Blankenbuelher. This led on to working with Camille A. Brown and Dancers.
Nahum then went on to tour with the International Company of West Side Story, during this time, he directed and produced ‘TokyoSideStory’ receiving excellent reception from the theatre community worldwide.
He continued his performing career on the West End in London where he was critically acclaimed for his performances in Inala - A Zulu Ballet, as well as in Singapore and China. Following on from Inala, Nahum joined the Richard Alston Dance Company.
Nahum has also performed commercially in New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Music Videos, Movies as well as been featured in fashion magazines and campaigns.
